Topic for today: Man vs. Machine... Kasparov vs. Deep Junior. "Kasparov, 39, rose to chess prominence as a Soviet junior champion in 1976, at age 12. He has held the world's No. 1 point-system ranking since 1984, despite occasional losses to humans, and has achieved almost mythic status in the chess world." -By DINO HAZELL, Associated Press Writer This magnificent man, however, lost to Deep Blue, the IBM super computer in 1997. It's quite baffling. Man made machine, which in return beats man. So far, in the match with Deep Junior, Kasparov has one once, lost once, and tied twice. Fifth game is scheduled Wednesday, and the winner of this match can consider themself victor of this 6-series game. I wonder how that will turn out.
