So anyways. There was a man, who appeared to be in his mid 30's to early 40's, who had long graying hair and a rather wise lookin' beard. He walks around the building in which I work, and asks people for their shoes, so that he can clean them. He's a weird guy though -- I was buying tacos across the street, when he approached me and asked me to buy a CD. When I declined, he demanded that I buy him a cola, because he was thirsty, and because I supposedly looked like someone from his 6th grade class. Of course I didn't buy him anything, and walked away, ignoring him, and I was promptly met with a roar of laughter and curses all rolled into one bellowing sound. His voice echoed up and down and through 8th street.

From what I hear, this man got into a fight with the security guard in the building, because the guard didn't let him in. Well, it led to a physical fight, and the police was called -- I'm surprised they showed up so fast! But all four police cars and one fire truck came, to arrest one crazy man.

There are shop-owners who, like my boss, have been in this two-story building for over a decade, and they're always out and about looking for anything remotely interesting -- today's event was definitely interesting, and they sat outside, viewing the whole charade like spectators. It seemed as though they were watching a play or something! So that was somewhat interesting. No gun fires though, so not too crazy.

I've gotten a very very brief survey of using ftp. I'm no expert on html or http or WWW or anything like that, but from what I see, movable type is very useful. First of all, everyone who uses movable type has the most webpages and it's always so precise in many ways. Of course, it does help that they probably have web hosting with a higher bandwidth than the lousy (although I still appreciate it very much, thank you ripway.com!) 5MB that is allowed by my host, albeit free. And nice domain names too.

But if I were to get a domain name, I'd never be able to decide on one. That would be like naming yourself. What would you name yourself? Only, it would be harder to figure out a domain name, because it could be a human name, or a thing, a place, or a phrase. And it would have to describe me, and since it isn't something I would change at a slight whim, it would have to describe me close to forever and ever.

Things like Typepad just costs too much for too little options. Basically, for something that I would enjoy, I'd need to put out $9, or as how they slyly put it, $8.95/month. Even with a year's service (which gives two months free) I'd still be spending $90 a year, and this is without domain names! And only three blogs! What if I want seven?

I have been preparing for another blog overhaul, and that should get me over this "I want a blog with "the works"" syndrome. Also, Blogger and Blog*spot have been good to me. They've been free, and never with any sort of problems. They even answered some of my questions I e-mailed with such promptness that isn't too common in the "free" services.

And Villagephotos, is fantastic, although I paid $5. But that's $5 for 6 MONTHS! It's been better than the ripway hosting, although they are related companies, I believe. For some reason, with ripway, my usage is very high -- the reasons why the photos I put below frequently don't show. With village photos, I didn't have that problem, although the maximum MB allowed daily are the same. So I guess I will be here at blog*spot for a while. I'm just too frugal to pay for something I could easily get for free. It would break my heart to pay, even if I had the money.
